About the Author
Ken Schneck is the producer and host of the award-winning radio program This Show Is So Gay. He is an associate professor at Baldwin Wallace University, where he teaches courses on antiracism, ethical leadership, and creating community-based change. Schneck combed the catalogues of libraries and museums to collect images and narratives that embody the experience of Cleveland's LGBTQ community; however, the most rewarding gems were unearthed pouring over albums in attics, leafing through old newspapers in basements, and listening to stories at kitchen tables.

I got my copy yesterday, and read it last night. Excellent! Captures so much history of LGBT in Cleveland. So much I didn't know, and so many names I now know. Without this book we would lose so much of our history, which would be a tragedy. You have done a great service to LGBT folks in Cleveland, and this book will be a valuable asset for us for many, many years to come.This is not just text, but also has a great many photographs that must have been hard to locate. It really captures some of the spirit and emotion of those times (not so long ago) when LGBT folks were just coming out and demanding their equal rights. Every city should be so lucky to have their own "Ken" to help keep alive the bravery of those who started the struggle not so long ago.Thank you,Ken.

So delicious! I inhaled this book in one sitting although I suspect it is meant to be savored more slowly. Loved the flow--the history, the stories, the PHOTOS, the articles. The author really brings it all to life. It's a beautiful book, very inspiring and touching and hope-inducing. A long way to go, yes, but we've also come a long way, baby.
