Wonderful safari stories, and as an avid traveler to Africa to the bush camps, I loved reading the experiences of these safari guides. Susie did a great job writing this book. Having lived in Johannesburg, So. Africa in the 80's and going back to Africa after we returned to the U.S., and going to more bush camps in Botswana and Zimbabwe, I can relate to many of these guides and their stories. We met so many great safari guides. They are all very special and we shared their love of the animals and their expertise. We are planning a trip back to Africa in Sept. 2016 to the Serengeti and the Masaai Mara this time to celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary!! Can't wait!
Now that's a special book. Susie Cazenove has an extensive knowledge of the Safari Destinations in Africa which she combined with her intimate knowledge of the best safari guides in the field and her love for the natural world to make this very informative and inpirational book. For me, as a naturalist guide, this publication is a must read, as reviews the best qualities that a naturalist can have by telling the stories of the top guides in Africa. Literally an inspiration.
The best chapter is the one on Nigel Perks. He is truly a fabulous guide and more entertaining and knowledgeable than imaginable.
